Installation of LATAM Chapter and CPD on ‘Advanced MSICS’

The Latin America (LATAM) Chapter of ISMSICS was installed virtually on September 14, 2024. The installation ceremony was moderated by Dr Neeta Dodwad and Dr Aarti Heda.

The installation was also followed by CPD on ‘Advanced MSICS’. The speakers were DR Carlos Gomez Chavez, Dr Juan Alfonso Russo Negron, Dr Neeta Dodwad, Dr Nilutparna Deori and Dr M S Ravindra. The webinar was moderated by Dr Purvi Bhagat and Dr Rajwinder Kaur.

Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology(PAAO) organised an ISMSICS webinar on 20^th July. 2024. The speakers were Dr Neeta Dodwad, Dr Jagannath Boramani, Dr Amulya Sahu, Dr Nilutparna Deori and Dr M S Ravindra. The discussants were Dr Boris Malyugin (Russia), Dr Karla Pamela Gonzalez-Daher (Mexico), Dr Huda Al Dhaheri (UAE) and Dr D Enkhzul (Mangolia).

Dr Helena Filipe (Vice President of PAAO) co-ordinated the webinar. The moderators were Dr Neeta Dodwad and Dr Kimaya Chavan.

Installation of Mangolia Chapter of ISMSICS and Webinar

The Mangolia Chapter of ISMSICS was virtually installed on 18th April 2024 and a webinar was held following the installation ceremony.

ISMSICS was invited to Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Conference 2024 (APAO2024) held during 23rd Feb to 26th Feb 2024 at Bali Indonesia, to conduct two MSICS wet lab training Sessions. There were a massive 263 registrations for the 20 seats available. The faculty were Dr Jagannath Boramani, Dr Neeta Dodwad and Dr Kimaya Chavan. Dr Boramani also held meetings with Dr Nitin Verma and other ISMSICS leaders from Asia-Pacific region.

ISMSICS was invited to Emirates Society of Ophthalmology Conference (ESO2024) held during 1st Feb to 3rd Feb 2024 at Hotel Hilton, YAS Island Abu Dhabi, UAE. The faculty were Dr Jagannath Boramani, Dr Neeta Dodwad, Dr Kimaya Chavan, Dr Santosh Bhide, Dr Manisha Rathi and Dr Priyanka Boramani. ISMSICS was given a session, a workshop and a wet lab. Dr Jagannath Boramni and Dr Manisha Rathi were also interviewed for ESO Channel (https://eso-conferences.com/eso-studio/#1700385679301-01a45351-3b09)

Dr Boramani was felicitated by UAE minister His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, for his great support to ESO.

ISMSICS was invited for a session on MSICS for the 23rd International Scientific Practical Congress, at Moscow during 5th October to 7th October 2023. The faculty were Dr Amulya Sahu , Dr Ashok Nanda , Dr Neeta Dodwad , Dr Jatinder Bali and Dr Aarti Heda. Dr Amulya Sahu performed live surgery in the conference in the Fyodorov Eye Institute and demonstrated 2mm MSICS to the conference audience in the main hall. The RUSSIAN chapter of ISMSICS was launched during the Annual conference of the Russian Ophthalmology Society in Moscow, with Dr Boris Malyugin as Chairman and Dr Ivan Tkachanko as the secretary.

ISMSICS was invited to Emirates Society of Ophthalmology Conference (ESO2023) held during 1st Feb to 3rd Feb 2024 at Hotel Hilton, YAS Island Abu Dhabi, UAE. The UAE Chapter of ISMSICS was launched in this conference and a MOU was signed with ESO regarding this. The faculty were Dr Amulya Sahu, Dr Jagannath Boramani, Dr M S Ravindra, Krishnaprasad Kudlu, Dr Anil Shah, Dr Nilutparna Deori and Dr Priyanka Boramani. ISMSICS was given a session and a workshop. Our global partner, HelpMeSee had also arranged training on MSICS Simulators in this conference.

MSICS – Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery WORKSHOP 2022
11th-12th June 2022

Emirates Society of Ophthalmology in collaboration with ISMSICS conducted ‘hands on’ surgical training at Grand Hyatt, Dubai on 11th & 12 June 2022. Dr. Jagannath Boramani (India) and Dr. Hossam Ziada(Egypt) were invited speakers. Though majority of delegates were from UAE, surgeons from Kuwait, Sudan, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and UK also attended the workshop.

First ISMSICS PHILIPPINES ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

The PHILIPPINES chapter of ISMSICS held its very first meeting in Manila. It was a well attended event with more than 50 msics eye surgeons from all over the nation. Eye surgeons from far off places like Mindanao, Visayas, Central Luzon. attended the meeting. Chairman Dr. Kadil Sinolinding and President Dr. Miguel Tomas S. Sarabia briefed the delegates about the purpose and motto of ISMSICS. It was decided to hold regular meetings in Philippines and to conduct MSICS training programmes across the country.
